Now the really cool thing is, that their patented HeatShift Technology not only manages to disperse the heat away from places it really shouldn’t be, but it also cancels out the sound of your laptop fans that would be now blowing against the bottom of the pad

The iXoft was able to lower the temperature on the bottom of my notebook by 10.7 F under full load. I was curious to see how the iXoft would feel once the phase change had occurred.

Overall, the iXoft mat worked surprising well. This is not to say that it’s incredibly effective, just that I can’t say I expected much from it in the first place. The system temperature fell about 4 degrees C from the maximum point

Cooling your laptop is something that most people don’t really consider. Laptops, for the most part, are a self contained computing system that should not need outside influence to keep it in good operational condition.

Well I truly am left here shocked that this actually worked. Here is a laptop cooler that needs no power, no fans and pretty much all it does is sit there, and it was able to cool the bottom surface of our laptop down as well as dissipate the heat before it ever comes in contact with your body if you’re using the laptop in your lap.

The iXoft failed to cool my laptop. In fact, it almost caused the laptop to overheat! The bottom fan was blocked, preventing cool airflow to the innards. Users with bottom-fanned laptops should probably avoid the iXoft. Others, however, might decide that the iXoft is right for them, especially MacBook users.
